Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 1/12/2024
dropiqo ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users ("you" or "your"). This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data.
1. Data We Collect
- Authentication Data: We collect your name, email address, and profile image when you sign in using a third-party OAuth provider. This information is used solely to identify you within the dropiqo platform. We do not use this data for advertising or share it with third parties.
- Payment Information: We request your mobile number only on the payment page to process transactions securely.
- File Metadata: Depending on your transfer mode, we may temporarily store metadata (e.g., file name, size, type) to facilitate the transfer.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Authentication: To verify your identity and provide access to your account.
- Service Communication: To inform you about important actions like file transfer updates or support-related issues.
- Payments: Your mobile number, if provided, is used strictly for payment processing through trusted third-party gateways.
3. Data Storage and Retention
- Snap Mode: Files are temporarily stored on our server's disk and automatically deleted after expiration (e.g., 30–120 minutes).
- Cloud Mode: Files are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 in the US East (Northern Virginia) region and are deleted automatically after their selected expiration. This option is available only to pro users.
- P2P Mode: No file data is stored; transfers happen directly between browsers.
- All files and related metadata are automatically deleted after their expiration period, based on the chosen mode.
- Authentication data is retained only as long as your account remains active.
- Encryption Notice: Files stored using Snap or Cloud modes are not encrypted by dropiqo. While AWS S3 may apply its own server-side encryption by default, we do not implement additional encryption for files. Transfers using P2P mode are not stored at all. Users should be mindful of the nature of the content they upload, as we do not provide end-to-end encryption.
4. Data Sharing
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as required to operate core functionalities (e.g., payment processing or AWS S3 storage).
- Files stored in Cloud mode are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3, but AWS does not have access to your personal data or content beyond storage purposes.
- Your data is never shared for marketing or profiling purposes.
5. Security & Liability
- We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data.
- However, in the unfortunate event of a cyber attack or data breach, dropiqo is not liable for any resulting loss or damage.
